Warrenton Woman Charged with DUI, Abuse and Neglect Following Crash in School Pick-up Line

A Warrenton woman was arrested Wednesday after a crash in the parent pick-up line at P.B. Smith Elementary, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.

Celeste Francis Watson, 43, has been charged with driving under the influence, abuse and neglect of children, and refusal.

Around 3:13 p.m., Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Warrenton school for a report of a crash in the parking lot. Upon arrival, deputies found Watson in a vehicle that rear-ended another car, the sheriff’s office stated in a news release. Watson was eventually taken into custody.

No one was injured in the incident.

The sheriff’s office noted in the release that a photo wasn’t available “due to intoxication level.” Watson was being held at the adult detention center pending a bond hearing Wednesday evening.

September 18-24 is National Child Passenger Safety Week, according to the sheriff’s office.
