Family pleads for missing Fairmont area woman to come home

FAIRMONT — The family of a missing Fairmont area woman is asking anyone with information to please come forward. Christa Merrill, 34, disappeared in Clarksburg on Aug. 27. Merrill had been released from the North Central Regional Jail a few days prior and made her way to Clarksburg where she stayed with an acquaintance. Coast Guard calls off search for 2 missing swimmers near Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (7News) — After more than 14 hours of looking for two missing swimmers off Virginia Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search Sunday afternoon. This comes after Coast Guard Sector Virginia watchstanders received a report around 8:30 p.m. Saturday for three swimmers in distress near Virginia Beach. Nearly 10 minutes after the initial report, officials said one of the swimmers was found unconscious on the beach and rushed to the hospital for further care.
