Trenton teen arrested in connection with shooting death

A 15-year-old male from Trenton was arrested for the shooting death of a Trenton man earlier this month. The United States Marshals Service apprehended the suspect in Norfolk, Virginia on Wednesday. The teenager faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. He will remain in Virginia pending extradition to Mercer County. Deadly crash on US-501 kills 78-year-old man in Halifax County

HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police say a 78-year-old man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Halifax County on July 20. According to VSP, around 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, 78-year-old Robert Hermanowski of Nathalie was in a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado and was driving south on Route 501 near Dudley Road. Hermanowski’s truck was rear-ended by a 2007 Ford Explorer, causing him to run off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
