RESTON, VA — An unidentified boy is in custody of the Fairfax County Police Department in connection to a sexual assault that took place in Reston late Tuesday night.
Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. for the report of a rape in the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane. Investigators determined that a boy approached an adult woman in an apartment building laundry room. After threatening her with a knife, he sexually assaulted her, according to police.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect, whose age was not released, and took him into custody. The boy is being held in the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, facing charges of rape, forcible sodomy and abduction with the intent to defile. He is being held without bond, according to police.
Although the victim recognized the suspect from the area, she did not know his identity.
