ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — The First Alert Weather Team is on a Heat Alert Monday as heat index values will be around 100 degrees. Plan for a mostly sunny, hot, and humid day.
You can expect a partly cloudy Tuesday with a chance for afternoon showers and storms. Otherwise hot and humid with heat index values around 100 degrees.
On Wednesday, the influence of a weakening tropical system may bring more widespread chances of showers and storms. Will be monitoring the tropics closely in the days to come.
Widespread rain likely due to the remnants of Debby is moving through the region.
The First Alert Weather Team will be closely monitoring what is now Tropical Storm Debby later this week. Current forecasts have the remnants of Debby moving up the I-95 corridor from the Carolinas through Virginia, a track favorable for widespread rain for the Mid-Atlantic. A slight shift east could mean drier conditions, and a shift to the west could mean wetter conditions. Regardless, drought relief is possible with at least scattered showers through the end of the week.
